Anyone carry a fire extinguisher?

I was out cruising with a bunch of friends one night & my buddy's 68 Cutlass quit on him. He pulled over & opened the hood & FOOOM the engine fire lit up when it got some oxygen. Six of us stood there & watched his car burn to the ground because none of us had a fire extinguisher. Pretty shitty way to end what had been a fun night.
Ever since then I have carried an extinguisher in each of my cars. I even have one in my DD. I figure that if I see someone else with a nice car on I can afford the $30 to have the thing recharged if it means I helped another car guy to not have to watch his ride go up in flames. The first time you have to watch your pride & joy go up in smoke you will kick yourself for not having spent the $80-100 on a good extinguisher.
That being said if you do buy one, step up to a good one that you can recharge. The cheapies are a one use deal & do not work 1/2 the time anyway. Most places can get you a chrome one that will look decent in most cars.

I used a Wendy's drink to put out a fire on a friend's Camaro once. It turned out the fire was my fault as I had not secured the positive cable out of the way ( I had just done the swap in the car), so the brake line rubbed through the insulation, and caught fire. It cut the brake line in three places, and arced a hole through the header! Luckily I was behind him in traffic delivering pizza and still had my drink left over from dinner that night or things could have been worse.
