Not sure if I am wasting my time or not but I have read they could be in the headliner, back seat, drivers door, gastank, or trunk mat. Well on my 78 I have pretty much been everywhere in it and failed. Just wondering if it could be in my 81
Thanks
Matt K.

I am not sure about models that late , but we use to fool with older cars and have even found them on top of the fuel tank . I know the list is on my trunk lid , not sure if that replaced the paper sheets or not . My old truck had the plate on the glove box lid.

I replaced my gas tank MANY years ago and I think I would have been smart enough that if there was a piece of paper on it I would have looked at it. But you never know I was pretty young LOL The car was oiled so many times it was probably ruined anyways. I've also replaced the headliner and while doing that I had the back seat out of it to repair a seat belt 🙂 Only place I can't remember being in is the Drivers door.....Maybe I might have to open it up

The only one I ever found in my Cutalss was in one of the doors. On a 1984 Z-28, I once found one in the seat bottom between the frame and foam. The way I see it, a build sheet is not as important on these cars because of the SPID label that states all of the RPO codes anyways.

Only car I ever found a build sheet in was my 80 z28.
It was under the rear seat.
Never really looked on anything else.
Wasn't even looking for it on the camaro. Was doing some work on it and there it was.

I have to remove the drivers door panel off the 81 Lemans cause the window isn't going all the way down.....Starting to bug me cause I like to drive with my arm hanging out the window LOL Maybe I will get lucky.

This is probably a dumb question but do G-bodys have the SPID Label hidden somewhere.....forgot about some GM's having them

guess, i'll look for mine when i change my interior.
we'll see if it's hiding.

does anyone have the RPO codes. only ones i found were for Bird/TA.
didn't have all mine listed.

I found three in my 442. The sheets for the g-body cars aren't as complete as the ones that were in mopars and stuff back in the day. They usually just held a little info pertaining to a certain area of the car. The first one I found (at least its illegible remains) was under the back seat between the frame and the foam, then there was another behind the door panel on the drivers door, and I found another on top of my gas tank...
I guess you never know till you look... It seems like they ended up where ever the assembly line worker felt like putting them that day...
