I want to leave my stock system alone both for looks and functionality. It's just an AM/FM cassette powering the 2 dash speakers. It works okay and no one will ever want to steal it. I was considering adding a cheap mini-amp to power either some 6.5" or 6x9s in the back and just run off an ipod. They're small so I should be able to mount one in the glovebox or under the dash and out of sight. I basically want to build an ipod dock for my car.
Examples:

The reviews are all over the place as far as quality and they're all over rated for power output. Obviously, I'm not expecting much. Have any of you guys actually used one? How did it work?

i cant help you any, but its a damn good idea.
kinda like a secret audio setup

i like my original cassette AM/FM analog head unit too. I had a stereo mini jack put on the front so I can run my XM through it. I want to put higher powered speakers but only if I can maintain the original look. This seems like a good idea.

Maybe I'll just order one up. It's a pretty cheap experiment.
