Anyone here have 18 inch rims on their ride. What size, back space, and tires do you have? Pics would be great too. Thinking of getting a set for my 87 442.

oldsofb,

I'm not sure if you're only interested in 442's or other G-Bodies. Mine is an 83 GP fitted with Billet Specialties SLX45 18x8 (front) and 18x9 (rear). TIres are Falken FK-451, 245/40ZR18 front and 275/35ZR18 rear.

I am running billet specialies on my 1978 Olds . The wheels are 18x8. The tires are 245/40/18 all around. I should have put larger wheels in the rear and much wider tires in the rear. Hear are some pics.

Running a 20" rear, 18" front combo crossed my mind. I'm concerned about the rear backspacing though because the 20" wheel had 5". The car is going to be lowered and I want the wheels to tuck.

What backspacing are you running? Any rub?

I am running 4.5 inch backspacing. I have no rubbing at all. With the wheels cut all the way to lock they are very close to the front sway bar. I have a ton of space in the rear. I should have went bigger ( I was thinking about 20's and something like a 275 tire). I have 2 inch lowering springs as well

Thanks. That helps with what I want to do.

Well I only have 16s, but width is width, mine are 16x7s front and 16x9s rear with 255/50s backspacing is just about 4.75, and as you can see its very low with no tire rub.....same can be done with a larger diameter...
