are g body headliners interchangeable

Hey yall.. My 81 Gp headliner is falling and without getting one custom made the only ones I can find are ones for GN and Monte Carlos... So is it worth buying one from a MC and trying because I think it would be afully close. Thanks............................... 😀

they are all of the same but you need to pay attention to where and which domelight it has. i had a issue in my old 78 regal with the light not fitting right

Since the rear quarter windows and rear glass differs between models, I'm not so sure they interchange so easily. Besides, once you go to the trouble of pulling off the dome light and all the pieces around the edge and getting the darn thing out, it's no biggie to scrape off the old adhesive, spray it again, and lay down brand new material (available at any auto upholstery supply houses.)

yes technically they are interchangable but there is a difference in where the seat belt anchors to on them. the 78-80 have the seatbelt anchor to the very top part of the headliner actually in the headliner itself and the 81-88 has that same point moved to the inside of the b-pillar itself. i put in a headliner board from an 87 grand national with moonroof, since that was the only car i could find that had the same factory moonroof as my 78, i installed the moonroof then noticed i couldnt fint the bolt hole for the seatbelts, then i looked at an 87 monte ss i had at the time and noticed the difference in mounting spots for it.
