Anyone ever replaced the headliner in a g body with a ASC dealer installed sunroof ? Mines is starting to sag and needs to be replaced.

shouldn't matter sunroof or not. Any decent upholstery shop can do it for you. Or you can try your own hand at it

Was thinking about trying myself but i have a feeling the headliner board is damaged / deteriorated in some places, so im wondering how to tackle that if i cant find a replacement board. Im sure there are dozens of shops locally willing to overcharge me for the job lol

There are threads on here and all over the internet. My board came out in multiple pieces. I used fibreglass resin and cut up an old t-shirt to mend it all back together ( per what I found on google ). Then scraped off all the old adhesive and had the local upholstery shop recover it for me for cheaper than my cost on the fabric alone. He also re-stitched my visors for me with the leftover material at no additional charge.
There are also ABS headliners out there that don't need to be recovered but you would have to cut out your hole for the sunroof.

My 83' Monte has an ASC sunroof and I replaced the headliner and on mine there is no board the headliner is stretched and glued into place.
I used the same cloth material as my seats.

No board i didn't know that, what is it actually glued to then ?

I did mine a long time ago but I think the unit has a large flat area in the back that you glue to and gets stretched and glued to all the edges where the molding is and in the front you glue it to the contoured piece and then the edges..
Very tedious work but I did mine by myself with a rollbar in the way.
Like I said I used actual matching material (velour) with no backing and it worked well and I don't think your typical foam backed headliner material is tuff enough for the job, my original headliner had no foam backing.
