B & M shifter in stock 84 SS console, can it be done????

Hello.
I have a stock 84 Monte SS.
Can I install an aftermarket shifter in the stock location of the centre console?
If so which shifters or brands work the best?

Here's what I did with my B&M shifter and stock console.
At this time it is only mached up and requires some brackets to be fabricated and bolted to the transmission tunnel to support the shifter.
I did this on a Saturday afternoon.
As I am not in a rush, it will take me time to fab the brackets.
The Car is in the process of being torn down.
I will replace or dye most of the interior parts.

Yes I have a Mega shifter inside a console...no trick to it, just bolt it in.
