Its been a while since I've posted & over a year since I've owned gbody. My 84 Type-T got impounded 2 months before I moved back to TN & due to "trumped up" charges, I left & it stayed.

But anyway, last week I purchased a rare gem I'd been eyeing on CL. Bought a '80 turbo MC wit just over 15k on the odometer. Body needs a little work & the floor board is rusted thru above the hump but I'd rather put in the work to do a restomod and save it than let it rot.

Plans include a 2" drop all the way around, disc brakes on all corners with upgraded size on front, Jeep steering shaft & electric fans. Basically trying to make a 35 yo car run like a car 1/2 it's age.

My apologies for the multiple copies of the 1st pic but IDK if they were loading or not and quitting wasn't an option.

Welcome back.......still shoulda grabbed the "T" type and brought it with ya for company on your move 🙂

Too bad you lost your t-type. The engine would have dropped right in your Monte. I have a 80 turbo Monte too, so if you need any references in your build just holler! Good luck!

Got it started today. Have a leak at the thermostat housing & it needs new plugs. Whoever worked on it in the past did a hack job on the wiring but we got it fixed.

I'll be sure to ask for your input on things since you have 1st hand knowledge of the car.
