So the trans went in my daily driver this past Saturday without warning on my 03 Taurus and I decided to just spend the money and get a new trans for it which leaves me without a daily driver until I get it back, I considered renting a car but decided to just drive my project 86' Regal and even though I am still working on the Regal it has been doing well and I am most impressed with how the factory AC works, even though I replaced everything with new and made my own hoses and then charged the system last year ( first time using the gauges I bought a decade ago).
Nice rainy day Today, here it is sitting at work.

Nice to enjoy the stuff you spend so much $$$ on for a change, Isn’t it? My dd is down due to a cel code, and subsequent repairs, and a poorly built cat conv, and the red truck project went south, then went bye, so the Chief has been put into dd status. Lovin it!

Well the Regal didn't make it to work Today, it had been raining extremely hard for a few hours before I left and continued as I got in the car and pulled it out of the garage.
My main concern at the time was how good the wiper blades were but they worked fine but what I didn't know was that there was flooding everywhere and I was getting hammered by the rain and hitting these huge puddles even driving in the center lane and then I hit one and the car stalled out but I was able to coast to a side street.
I tried starting the car but it wouldn't fire so I waited for a while until there was a break in the rain and opened the hood and figured I would check the air filter first and when I took it off it was filled with water, open element, filtered top and open scoop made for a bad combination in this extreme weather, anyways it fired right up without the air cleaner and I took my time getting it home but a lot of road closures due to flooding.
I should have just called in but I couldn't resist the free undercarriage and engine bay power washing.

it's good the engine stalled so you didn't end up hydro locking it......
It worked out fine luckily, it took a while to get all of the water out of the air filter and lid but it's ready for work Tomorrow.
It's still hard for me to get used to having AC, defrost (which I needed Today) and heat in a Gbody since the Monte is driven only on nice summer days.

I have to say, that would be the daily driver until snow falls or the weather worriers start doucing the roads with salt as far as I'm concerned - piss on the Taurus when you can be cruising daily in that.

You'll have plenty of time to finish it off come snow season.
