I have a th350 behind my 3.8, and I'm dropping in a chebby 350. I was pretty bummed when I thought I had to swap my transmission for a chevy bolt pattern'ed one, but the a friend told me that summit sells adapter plates. I looked them up, and they do sell them, from $55-$70.

Does anyone here have any good or bad experiences with these? Could I buy the cheaper plate and still have the same value part as the most expensive one?

read the decriptions carefully. There are specific ones to go from chevy engine to BOP trans, and a diferent one to go from a BOP engine to chevy trans.

And are you sure that you have the th350, and not the th200?
If you have the 200, you should just get a different trans.

Time for a reality check.

The TCI plate only picks up four of the six BOP pattern bolts. The more expensive Trans Dapt plate picks up all six. You think there might be a reason why it costs more?

Yes, I am sure, Id doesn't have "Metric" stamped on the pan or anything.

Sorry.....I have never had an engine or transmission out of a car in my life, I am just trying to learn all I can about cars and how exactly they work, Which is one of the reasons I joined this forum. Forgive me if I don't know how many bolts an olds transmission has.
