I have an 85 el camino. I was wondering what is the biggest size et street drag radial i can put under my car, with factory suspension. Just trying to get my car to hook better than what it is doing. I have 15x7s now, but if necessary i can get 15x8.

15x8 is fine , I run a 275/60/15 with no problems.

275 60 15 is the biggest you can fit without rolling the wheel lips and trimming

275/60/15s on back 235/60/15s up front

275/60/15 is 28.0x 11.5 correct? just want to make sure before i buy the wheels an they do not fit. Thanks

28 tall is correct although most 275/60/15s on an 8" rim will only have a section width of 11.0". I have also seen people run a 295/50/15 also on an 8" rim but usually they have air bags or roll the inner lip so that if the car comes down on the tire it does not cut up the side wall. I have also seen 295/65/15s on a car with only the frame rails trimmed, air bags, & inner fender lip roll.

Just curious again, 26.0 11.5 15 will fit under my car too right? I looked up the tire size up and it came up as 275/50/15. I dont see why these wouldnt fit, but just want to be sure. Im running a 8 inch weld drag lite. Thank you

Yes the shorter 275/50/15 will also work on a 15x8 as that is what I run on my GN to get optimum gearing. On the 442 I also ran 15x8s with both 275/60/15s & 255/70/15s but I didn't like the looks of the tall 70s.
