Bio-diesel station!!

I did quite a lot of research into it, and from what I have read, it takes so much time that your savings pay you less than you would make using that time to work a minimum wage job! For $2.50 a gallon, I would be all over it. I'd have me a diesel Benz, and be filling up every 2-3 days.

I wish I had extra money, I would definately go out and get a diesel Benz or Volkswagon. Even if you just got regular diesel at $4.00 a gallon you will still save money just by the gas mileage(At least in my case where my daily driver gets 17-18 mpg). Atleast those old diesel cars have some sort of character, I would feel much better about driving one of those instead of a Prius.

I know what you mean. For me, the ultimate would be a 1982-85 (the best years) Mercedes Benz 300TD. It's a station wagon version of the W123 chassis, and has the OM 617 3 liter turbo diesel engine in it. I would convert it to a manual trans using parts from a 240D. The automatics are the Achilles heel of these cars as the vacuum system that shifts them goes out and destroys the trans. That, and rust on the older models ( they fixed it in 1982).

I just love the look of these cars. They are the last of the chrome bumper Benzes, and are so well made that many of them exceed one million miles on one engine.

i would love to get an old desiel jetta to convert to this bio-diesel stuff. maybe not this summer but the one after i could try to do this project. it would be nice not paying a fortune for gas
