I know this topic has been gone over many times, but I was wondering if the G-body brake hoses can be used...or do you just use the Blazer hoses?
The reason I ask is because I do intend to do the Blazer brake swap/ upgrade, and I have a set of Russell braided brake hoses for a G-body car that I've squirreled away.

Also, what's a fair price to pay at the junkyard for the knuckles, calipers, backing plates, and PAB's...minus the rotors?

I did mean to say "dual piston" caliper😕

Thank you Ed,
That's an excellent write-up. Thanks for the link, I appreciate it. I guess it pretty much answers my question about using the G-body brake hoses.

The G-body hoses are too short, but I don't yet have the length number (I'll need to solve this for myself soon).
You Pull & Pay price sheet says $20 per knuckle, $15 per hub/bearing, $8 per rotor, $14 per caliper, $10 per caliper bracket, $7 per backing plate. Depending upon your 'yard, expect a mugging of between $100 - $200. Consider rebuilt calipers with the abutments about $60 each from Rockauto.com - with core, without shipping. Whether you take the calipers or not, get all the bolts. The gravel shields are about $30 each new from Amazon, although they are out of stock at this moment.

Thanks Quinn,
There's a set that I have my eyes on. I'm just going to grab the knuckles, hubs, and calipers...and the dust shields, even though they got a little bent from being on the ground..
I'll try to save them with some hammer and dolly work, and maybe a little heat.
It's pretty much the price(s) that you quoted. However, there was only one other 2wd Blazer there, but was already missing the left side spindle assembly...the right side was still there.
I'm hoping I'll be able to get by in the meantime using the existing hubs and bearings. They seem to spin smoothly...not loose or ratchety.
The calipers appear to be in good shape. Perhaps down the road I'll change them out for fresh ones.

yeah the bearings are alittle expensive for quality ones. napa and timkens are both around 120 for each bearing.
I just bought 2 new calipers and brakets from napa for 56 each after core trade in. I did not want to have to worry about them leaking or failing after doing all the work to install them. I bought my setup complete with blazer lines and the blazer frame brackets. summit carries a fitting to adapt the blazer rubber lines to the g body stock hardline fitting.

Another simple question. I picked up the set of 2wd Blazer brake assemblies that I was eye balling. I noticed on the right side center hub there's a hole in the center, much like the 4wd setup, but no splines. Is there a cap that covers this hole, and where can it be purchased? The other side isn't open like the right side. Being open like that can't be a good thing.

with the bearings. some of the aftermarket replacement bearings for some odd reason did not come with a cap to cover the hole. a lot of the time the factory ones did not fit the aftermarket bearings eitheryou kind of have to find whatever will fit. people have used rubber bouncing balls ,or electrical box covers for the conduit holes.

Thanks Ed.
What you're saying is that I'm going to have to improvise and find a cover that will fit. . I guess that's what I'll have to do then.
