I vote leave it all off except the "Oldsmobile" emblems. Wheel well trim lower stainless and while you are doing body work the emblem springy thing in the front header.

I agree.

I think I can see where you are going with your car and I think you should leave it off. I like those wheels (can never remember the name) and with those on, I think you'll look better without all the chrome.

Orrrrr, you could try to do something custom with the chrome to give it a whole new look. I have some ideas around this for my own car, but haven't hashed it out enough to share yet.

i was thinking about at least putting on the trim that goes around the wheel well and maybe find the trim that goes under the door except the the real thin style because i think the real wide style doesnt look sporty, but without anything it looks to plain..idk im still thinking about it, cant wait to get it painted.

I say keep it on if it works with your theme. It all depends on the color, stance and wheels and tires you choose. I personally like the lower trim and all of the metal trim pieces. However, I have eliminated all of the plastic trim and emblems except for the bumper strips and the Oldsmobile script on the front bumper. It also goes with my desire to keep my car a "personal luxury coupe" in style, and to try and keep as much of it's stock charm and character as I can while making it a better performer.

I didn't see the cowl hood the first time around. One of my "rules" is that cowl hoods should NEVER be used with vinyl tops and lower moldings. It makes the car look like it is at crossed purposes. If the hood stays, the trim should go.

yeah idk if its visable that well but in the second picture you kinda see that i ripped the vinyl top and now im dealing with scrapping off all of the roam underneath it...cant wait to see how nice it looks painted without and ugly vinyl top..

here are some more picks of the vinyless top..

One critical thing: Use All Metal to fill the roof seam where the top used to be!!! Standard filler will cause rust issues down the road. All Metal was specifically designed to replace lead in body seams, so you can put it on thick.

85supreme, i got the exact same thomas the tank engine blanket 8) lol
