im looking to paint my malibu myself but i have a trouble area can anyone help me out with any tips or suggestions on how to repair this.. this is my first time trying this so i need help....tools,material etc etc..
I think the circled area you could use a flat body hammer and a dolly. If your going with big wheels, you can cut the fender lip off on the inside and that would give you room to tap it out. I've heard of using dry ice too but not sure on how bad the dent is for that but it might work good for that big dent. Hit up youtube on the dry ice. Does the arrow area stick out? That could be just tapped in using the large point end of a body hammer. You can get a cheap set of hammers and a dolly at harbor freight. The rest you could smooth out with body filler, just stay away from the Bondo products. I'm no body expert but I have done it.
What's the issue? I can't tell from the photo. Those little dimples can just be filled over. If you do it right they won't cause any trouble. Is the whole panel dented in? I can't tell if it is or not. If it is, you'll need to push or pull it out. There are different tools to do that if you need to. Autobodystore.com has a forum with a bunch of hobby and body shop guys. If you want a pro answer go there. They are good guys.
