Im trying to install a TH200 with chevy bolt pattern to a BOP 231 3.8L V6 engine. Jegs sells an adapter plate, but was wondering if anyone has ever done this install and if anyone knows if this adapter plate will work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well sorta, lol. I went with an olds V8 hooked to a chev th350. Can't speak for the Jegs adaptor, but the idea works. I didn't feel like dishing out the $70 so I made my own out of 1/4" steel. Remember, you'll have to space your converter away from the flywheel to compensate for the adapter plate.

Yeah it says it comes with all the hardware, just wondering if it will work for my V6.

Compare the various adapter plates on the market. Some only pick up four of the six bolts in the BOP pattern. The better ones get all six.

A used CHEAP junk yard or Craigsilst buick/olds/pontiac bolt pattern TH200 will bolt into place rather than buying an adapter plate. Or better yet a BOP bolt pattern TH350 which will be much stronger and the same price as another TH200. GM made millions of them, they're cheap and plentiful. The only reason GM continued the use the TH200 was that there was a fire in the Turbo-HydroMatic plant that made TH350's and there was a shortage of TH350's for a while in the 80's. The TH200 is junk I have one... My motor is shot so it doesn't matter it doesn't have enough power to trash a TH200 which mine has over 122 thousand miles on it. But if I had to replace the transmission I'd go for the tougher TH350 for more strength, or an overdrive for better economy.

I already have the chevy bolt pattern TH200, my BOP TH200 went out and I found one on craigslist for 100 bucks except it was a chevy bolt pattern TH200 so I was looking for a way to adapt that transmission to my engine. eventually I will be putting in a 283 and maybe a TH350 in the future, just wanted a way to cruise while I build that up.

I gotcha if that's the easiest way to get you back on the road, go for it. All I was saying is those transmissions practically get given away all the time, it might be easier just to sell or trade the one you have for one that would bolt right up with no hassle whatsoever.
