My Trailblazer was starting to show its age with a few rot through areas and 175k miles on the ticker so after discussions with my bride about trading up we decided to test the waters. I’m a GM guy through and through so that was where we were looking, used of course. Unfortunately the General ditched the mid sized full framed SUV line a while ago and left me no choice but to go with a pickup truck. My wife hit the internet searches heavy and found some interesting deals and stumbled onto an intriguing sale price on a 2020 Colorado quad cab, WT model. We went over this morning and inked it for the price listed, traded the Trailblazer off and drove home in the new truck. My first brand new car that’s mine to drive every day. Here’s the new wheels.

Need to get a hitch on it ASAP to tow the boat this summer.

Step One: Fluid Film the snot out of the undercarriage.

Step Two: Ceramic Coat the paint.

Step Three: Grab a hammer and give a gentle whack to a corner somewhere inside the bed. First dent is the hardest, but once you know it's there you won't worry about using the truck as a truck.

Most importantly, ENJOY! You probably won't feel as good as the day it came home until the day it's paid off. (Kind of like a daughter being born vs married away, end of bills!)

Will do on the fluid film. Ceramic coat the paint? Is this a shop service or like a coat of wax? That’s a new one to me, will investigate.

Not gonna dent the bed for as long as possible, I have a 9’x5’ open trailer for the dirty work. My 08’ Trailblazer was my transportation and fully upholstered out back and if I could have bought another I probably would have. Plans for a fiberglass cap are in the works over the next year for the Colorado.

And you’re absolutely right, paying it off will be a very good day too! Lol

I hope to have this one for at least 12 years, possibly longer if things work out the way I want. Going to try and keep the mileage down as best I can without being ridiculous about it.

One of thooooooose guys. I shake my head at the dump when I see a pickup with an empty bed towing a little trailer. Buy a van if you want closed cargo.

Or get a Challenger to tow that little trailer. The cap, hitch and good floor mats are good ideas. What drive train does it have? What kind of mileage does it get? What boat are you towing?

gas V6 3.6ltr, 8 speed auto

all around mileage 22-23 mpg.

I tow a 1994 Maxum 18’ bow rider with a 115 Mercury and 30 gallons of fuel aboard. May step up to a 21’ - 23’er in the future (if the right fixer upper comes along) the Colorado can handle it.
