Unifor is encouraging people to boycott GM cars made in Mexico in response to the GM plant closures, primarily Oshawa. I agree with them, I've never bought a Mexican-built car and don't ever plan to. I buy American cars built in the US or Canada or foreign cars built in their respective countries or the US or Canada. I would also be boycotting the Korean built GMs too.

I agree, for like the last 10 or so years I wouldn't buy a new GM at all.

BUT**

The engine blocks made in Mexico are twice as strong than the ones made in Canada due to there lack of save the earth BS laws.

It is really easy, everything GM makes is either ugly, overpriced or both. I think refraining from buying GM Mexico won't be a problem.

Every one of the major auto manufacturers uses a combination of domestic and foreign sourced parts, regardless of where the final product is assembled. I fail to see the point of boycotting an automaker that sources the majority of it's parts from offshore companies in favor of another auto manufacturer that does the same thing.

The Camry and Accord are more American than most "American" cars now. Yes, they're built in non-UAW plants, but in terms of domestic-sourced content, they're near the top of the list, and have been for quite a while.

Exactly. Been going on for who knows how long.

I live 4 miles from the GM Lordstown plant. A lot of Friends and Neighbors worked there. Most are retired but 2 are still "employed." Both have their houses for sale and I saw a moving van last week at one house. I think the one is going to Springhill Tenn. It's tuff but one has to do whatever it takes for your family.

UAW ruined everything that has to do with USA made cars!!!!!

Even though Camry and Accord are Made in USA the $$$$ goes back to Japan
