Hi Guys,
I need to paint my new reman'd Blazer front calipers. What brand(s) do you recommend? I'm considering VHT. I know there's Duplicolor, and Eastwood, but would like to find something local.

Thank you!

I've had pretty good luck with the Duplicolor black caliper paint. It sticks very well, although I wish it was available in a satin finish, I think gloss is only available right now.

VHT here, they seem to have a larger range of colours and offerings in satin as well as gloss. Hi-Temp "header" paint seems to work just as well. I use hi-temp silver with hi-temp satin clear right away. It makes the finish a little cloudy and it dries similar to cast aluminum.

Thank you much, guys.
I'm kind of leaning towards the VHT cast silver paint. I'm trying to achieve a natural satin cast aluminum/ cast iron look.. I know cast iron would be more grey than silver.
I have also thought of using header paint, which also has a high heat range. Hopefully, whatever I use will not be affected by brake fluid on the paint.

I have used Eastwood stainless steel paint in a pint can. I like the finish of that, and have used it on the heat exchangers on my old Porsche 914. It seemed to withstand heat and actually cured as it was heated.

Thanks again for your feedback.

i used por15. will last for a long time

VHT Caliper silver from the Zone. Couple light coats, no top coat. Brake dust will darken it over time.

Thank you guys!
Quinn, thank you sir...that's just what I wanted to know, and see....I appreciate it.
Your setup looks great, btw.

Quinn,
I notice that the VHT paint is in an 11oz. aerosol can. Is one can enough to do both calipers and brackets, or should I get two?

I had enough to do two sets of calipers with some left over - I'd say I can also get the Blazer front pair done with the same can. That said, the stuff is not a cheap as Krylon. Make sure you clean off any assembly lube, especially silicone, or it won't stick. The paint does not cure until heat is applied. When you bed the pads, that should take care of it.
