Lately I've noticed a slight brake fluid leak. Pretty sure it's coming from where the plastic fluid reservoir goes onto the master cylinder. Can you buy just those gaskets or do you have to buy like some sort of a rebuild kit? Also it would probably be a good idea to flush out the fluid since I can't remember the last time it was done.

So issue #2. The brake booster itself is rusty as hell on the bottom (probably from the leak). How easy is it to remove it from the car for painting/resto? Or should I just mask it off and paint it in the car with the master cylinder off?

You used to be able to buy a new plastic reservoir and it came with the new rubber grommets you need, but I'm not finding that anymore after a quick search. Maybe someone still offers it, I don't know. Probably best just to get a whole new master cylinder since it's old anyway and while it's off remove the booster and clean/paint it.

As far as I know the reman master cylinder comes with or without the reservoir but you can't buy the reservoir by itself.

Well, kinda sucks you can't just buy the rubber seals, but a new master cylinder is 45 dollars, not too bad. Gotta take it off anyhow to redo the booster.
