I have done this swap with a 300 and a 340 Buick V8. Believe it or not, the 340 is a better fit than the 350! The 340 and 300 share the same deck height and block width as the 3.8 V6, whereas the 350 is slightly taller and wider.
Hopefully you will do this swap and show the pictures. I re-used everything from the V6 for bolting up and cut down the hoses to fit. The only tricky part is using an HEI distributor. You have to grind off part of the front of the Intake Manifold where it hits and grind down the LH front intake bolt or replace it with an allen head bolt for clearance.
Even the exhaust bolts up the same! The same torque converter gives you about 1800 stall speed, and you can strip all of the accessories from the front of the 3.8 and bolt them to the 340. You may need to use a 3.8 water pump if your 340 pump is too long. You can use the 3.8 pulleys as well. Because the 340 is the same deck height and width you can even use the same belts when you are done. When I do the 350 swaps, I always have to buy longer belts!!
Good luck!!
