All,

we have regal trunk trim pieces which I should have the test pieces waiting for me when I arrive back home in the morning. I will post pictures of the test fit. Correct anodized aluminum, cannot tell the difference in oem or aftermarket.

Pics of Buick trunk trim. Just got test fitments in. Looked at these a few weeks ago & couldn't tell from the NOS unit.
Nice part is they have the end caps. Muich more impressive in person,

I'm glad you guys are working on this stuff. Do you know when you are going to start releasing prices? You must have an idea of what you are targeting for price. I'm interested in some of the Regal stuff, but I'd like to get an idea of the cost for the door skins.

Doors skins should be in line with the Monte carlo units that are already out. http://www.gbodyparts.com/product_info. ... ff30909b05
We know this because some one has already tooled up built these & figured out costs. So we know we will be in this ball park.

It's not really just as easy to say you have an idea of a target price. We don't. Alot of these are new products that haven't been available for years. There is the manufacturers cost, box fees, & then shipping. Once you have that figure you can get an idea of what you have to sell it for.
Lets just say we did all this & the trunk lid molding came out at $260 each. We know we wouldn't sell many so we would not proceed. I can tell you we have sold tons of used units for ever at $85.00. So if we can get new in that are close to $85.00 we know we can sell them. Alot of this data comes from us. I didn't pick $85.00 out of the air when we sold them for the last 13 years. I had info on what they cost new & what others who sold used parts were selling them for. This doesn't mean that if we need to sell them for $65.00 that we sell them for $85. We would sell them at $65.
We would rather sell 100 at $65 then 40 at $85.

The big picture here is we are in unknown waters. The tougest question we get from the manufacturers is :
HOW MANY WILL YOU BUY?
Hmm not sure we haven't had this product new before in 20+ years. How much will it cost?
IT DEPENDS ON HOW MANY YOU BUY.
You see how difficult this makes it? We have to think well we sold 38 used trunk lid moldings this year. 44 the year before, the year before this 65. Why have sales dropped, demand? Then we look back at data & say nope lack of supply.
So we go back to the manufacturer & say we think we could move 100 a year. They laugh at us. So then we have to look at the next 3 years of sales. Then we get a quote on 250 or 500. If at 500 we can offer a really low price, will we sell more? With the price of only a few dollars less no. So we opt for 250 units.

Then you hope the hell you were right. If not your setting on a lot of $. The numbers aboove are made up but it is to give you an idea of how Toby & I are laying our necks out.

This make a little more sense?
