I am trying to decode my vin and I would like to find my build sheet. Where on these G bodies would they be hidden at? I have a Canadian built 82 Cutlass.....
Thanks
Steve

I have heard they can be above the headliner, in the doors, above the gas tank. I think that they put them in a bunch of different locations.

Well lucky me... I need to pull the headliner to fix the saggy clothe.... I had the tank out and no go on this one.

I had one under my gas tank andone under the back seat in my 83GP. I have also completly parted out 2 other 83 GPs and didnt find one in either.

G-bodies don't have one specific build sheet like an old mopar would have hidden under the back seat.

There are however, several assembly line sheets for the workers to follow when the car is assembled. Those are limited in information, and usually only pertain to the certain area of the car that they're found in. I personally have found them under the rear seat, behind the door panels, and on top of the gas tank. I've also heard of them above the headliner and underneath the carpet. I've got a couple laying around. I should scan it so everybody can see what they look like and what they say.

The thing you need to find to get the info you seek is the RPO sticker that is on the under side of the trunklid. Make sure the VIN number matches the car so incase it's been replaced. Write down all the codes and you can figure out what it all means at a place like here:

You know I've had the seats out of my Monte and never even thought to look.

I looked for the RPO sticker and everywhere they say it could it isnt. The only sheetmetal that has been replaced is the front clip back in the 80's.. Any idea where else to look? Thanks

It may be under the hood like it is on some trucks or vans. I would also check inside the glove box like they did in the S-10.

any guess as to where the build sheet or the rpo codes are on a 79 malibu wagon I haven't found anything anywhere
