I started tearing my car apart today. Found some rot but I don't think it will be that bad to fix. It is the only places as you see in the pics. I am going to be going slow on this car as I have cancer and will be going for surgery.

That thing rotted in some rather odd places!

I dont get why it did. Maybe because I am from massachusetts, lol.
I think it is because the door seals might be bad???

I've seen worse...

Snow and ice get packed up inbetween the frame and body and will rot the floor like that. I like how the rust on the rear floor is contained in the perfect shape of the sealer patch the factory puts in...

Other than that spot on your rocker, it looks pretty nice.

The sealer patch is what really gets me. My floor had surface rust everywhere BUT under the sealer patch. Yours is the dead opposite.

I KNOW!!!! There was the sqaure padding and I pulled that up after the carpet. They did that on purpose from the factory so it would rot out,

I wonder if the windows leaked keeping the carpet wet in those spots in the front,as for the back I wonder if the floor plug wasn't sealed right from the factory?

My 86' Regal had a very small section of rust in the same upper rocker area. It's right under that black strip that holds the wiring (under the sill plate). Luckily I caught it and put some POR-15 on it.
