350

ok i decided to go with hyper pistons but does anyone think i should go with .100 raised domes instead for more comp? currently a flatop with 76cc heads and 0 deck block fetches about 9.1/9.2 and wondering if that small raised dome piston would still be under 10.1 to1 compression? oh yea, using a felpro 7733pt2 .040 gasket. would the butt dyno feel any more power?

since i'm waisting more of your time anyway, acording to the comp cams cam software i can make more madd power by using a solid cam. how often do you have to adjust valve lash on a street engine? any extra maintenance with them too?

Solid cams are good for high rpm engines. Don't use a solid cam on the street, unless you like adjusting lash on a weekly basis & buying many valve cover gaskets, or paying huge bucks for a reusable set.

Even a solid roller isn't very practical for street use. Use a hydraulic cam, plain & simple. You'll be much happier.

I'm going to run a solid cam, lash adjustments every 3000-5000km depending on how you drive it. Only reason I went with solid was a few more ponies for very little extra money. They aren't just for high revving engines, at low revs the lift is still positive when a hydraulic will be a little soggy, oil pressure differences won't effect the solid lifters, they are lighter than hydraulic lifters and also have reduced friction vs the hydraulic lifters due to the lash clearance when the lifter is on the base circle of the lobe.

That said, if its a daily driver or mild engine I would never bother with a solid cam.
