Use a multimeter and check the resistance of the sender at the bulkhead on top of the sender before you send it out. It could be a bad connection. Should sweep from 0-90 ohm as you lift and lower the float. Some Emery cloth on the contacts will usually fix it.

What's the plan now? New tank? In-tank fuel pump? Any plans to add baffles? I was looking into the Holley fuel pickup mat but have so far gagged at the prices.

Just want to get this one running good enough to pass smog & get registered. Once that's done, plan on meeting with the shop that'll be doing most of the heavy lifting on the restomod. Plan on buying a bunch of fuel & vacuum hose, as a lot of the hoses are pretty shot. Those of you that don't live in California, be glad... 😛

On the carb rebuild ... get a set of Thexton tools. You can buy direct from them, and they don't charge an arm and a leg.

Well well, whuddaya know. Just went to www.thexton.com and they no longer have the tools. Just the set of two sockets on closeout (#362), the others are all gone and they don't even find them if you use the site search.

I was there a matter of weeks ago, and they still had the stuff. Now you see it, now you don't. Sigh.

NAPA used to have under Balkamp brand, no longer do.
