How common are these silver faced guages for the Grand Prix? The reason I ask is that I ran across a full gauge set up on my last wrecker trip. It's complete with tach, speedo and all the guages and I was wondering whether I should pick it up. I don't have a GP but I would hate to see these get crushed with the car if someone could use them.

NOTE: These are not the gauges I found...the ones I found are in Metric with me being in Canada an all.

They're from '78 only. Both the Grand Prix and Grand Am used the same ones. If you got one with a tach, grab it for sure. Someone on e-bay would likely pay a nice sum for it (or you could send it my way as a spare 😉 )

I've got the same ones in mine (tach incl.) and I like them better than the black ones.

The silver gauges seem to pop up on ebay pretty reguarly, but the tach might be rare. Most of the GP's I've seen have a broken clock where the tach should be.

I've been looking at those for my GP. Let me know if you pick them up. I am definitely interested. I have the tach but i haven't installed it. I would like the color change though.

The clock in my GP was PERFECT, until one day I changed the dash light and the tip of the second hand broke off, it still works but the second hand is like 3/4ths of an inch long.

It's always 7:15 in my car. So when i found the tach i made sure to pull it to replace the clock. I wonder if it even works though........

I was able to remove the broken clock from my cluster and install a Sun Super Tach II in the cluster. It sounds lame but it looks clean. Of course, I can't find any pics of it right now... 🙁

i still have to put my tach where the clock is, but i have sunpro gauges in 3 of the pods so far.

I think sunpro makes a fuel gauge that works with GM sending units, if you want all the gauges to match. You just have to figure out the wiring. I did it a few years ago, so I can't remember the wiring specifics off the top of my head.

I'll post pics of mine when I find them.
