In case any of you in the US are not aware there is a postal lock out/strike the is scheduled to begin this Monday. Any packages you have sent or are planning on sending will be stuck in the system if the package is on route when the strike begins till service begins again. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

Hmmmmm. I figured Trudeau would be more worker friendly. Is the Canada PO still government operated, or did they privatize it?

This situation is working out well for the courier companies, and other means of moving goods. I hope that the postal workers aren't shooting themselves in the foot.

Well there goes my hopes and dreams to get a letter for now 😛

I don't see any humor in it. I get all my notices from the courts in the mail. I can sent out by couriers but that is more expensive and time consuming for me. My clients will be paying for the extra it costs for the courier but I end up eating the time.

I wish I could answer that but nothing political is permitted in the General thread. You weren't trying to set me up to get my hands slapped were you?..😀

I just checked for any updates and nothing is new according to the gov since Friday. The lock out is supposed to start tomorrow at midnite...

Well, as an ex-postal worker I can attest that the job sucks. Serving the public is great, being outdoors is great, but working for the scumbags that run the PO is torture. I wish them well.

The gov was going to stop home delivery and put up community mail boxes but that idea hasn't been spoken about since last summer

Steve, looks like we still have postal service.
Our friendly letter carrier Darrin just walked up the street...
