Well... I think I will be installing an alarm when I change my dash out, and I don't know what to get as far as brands go. I want to have one that locks the doors, and will pop the trunk with a remote, as well as an interior alarm and starter kill on it. I also want the option to only have it come on after a door has been opened so that it does not false trigger all the time. Preferably, I would like to spend around $100 for the system...if possible. Any suggestions of what to buy and what to stay away from?

Viper

google Viper security system, they have the best value alarm system in my opinion, there not cheap though. they have options for the remote start, electric trunk pop, etc. along with a lot of other toys you can look at.

the best alarm u can get is the clifford g5. but thats goin to cost u more than 100$. but a viper is ok.. but if you want the best. clifford is the way to go

Viper, Sidewinder, and Python are all DEI products and essentially all the same. Very good quality alarms. Also Alpine has always made a pretty good one.

I had a Viper on my 94' Camaro treated me well for 2 years

Stay away from Bulldog, Some years back I got 3 of them and none of them worked. I ended up getting my money back. I had to put the remote right up to the hood and sometimes,,,,,it would work.

Total junk.

I have a Viper and it is great. It was in a Honda for yrs and now its about to go into an Impala. I had all the bells ans whistles with back batteries and sirens in the inside and under the hood. It was really unbearable inside when it went off. It saved me 2x as it had been broken into 2x. They never got it started or removed anything.

Viper 9501 is the best alarm hands down.....I have it in my Impala SS

Why? Do you really think they deter theft? Has ANYONE here ever called the police when they heard a car alarm?

Didn't think so.

You'll get as much effect from a flashing LED and some stickers. Likely cost you $10 at Radio Shack. They hide a kill switch.
