When do the gates open Sat morning for the participants?

My buddy is coming into town with a pickup and trailer with his car in it. Can he pull into the fairgrounds and park the tow rig somewhere on the property? His car is street legal, but not really

He should be able to drive the truck/trailer into their parking lots..entrance is just west of the main gates.

Yep, there should be cones and a line of cars turning right(north) off of como.
