So finally got her running again and now when I push the pedal down to the floor she'll stutter for a second and then shoot...so it would seem shes running rich?

Shes backfiring now through the carb and exhaust but only if you gun it...if you raise speeds gradually shes fine.

I have the rochester quadrajet on it (orignal mabye) I have no idea..all mods were done to this car before I got it.

Was wondering if there was a "quick" fix? Or does it nee :?: d a carb?

not sure if its going to be a quick fix, could just need adjusting or it could need a rebuilt or a new carb. definitely too rich if it backfiring though.

Most likely too lean. Accelerator pump probably, while you're changing it check the float level. 11/32" will work for nearly all Q-jets.

Timing could also be lazy, check it out.

there's an adjustment for a spring on the secondaries....if the spring is too light the air valve will open too soon and give you a hesitation...and too heavy the air valve on the secondaries open late and will cause a bog
