Basically wanting to know if anyone knows the height difference between an LS and Gen 1 small block Chevy. I know this all depends on the intake height but assuming the same style manifold, which one sits higher in the engine bay.

I don’t know about the carb conversions, but the injected LSs seem to sit pretty low in the engine bays. Even the ones with the taller truck manifolds seem to have plenty of headroom. As far as the carb conversions, couldn’t tell you.

Yeah I noticed the same thing at car shows so I wondered if it would be lower with a carb as well.

FWIW, an LS with a truck intake will clear a stock hood. I would think with a carbed intake, carb and air cleaner it would be around the same height.
