I have a edelbrock carb im haveing problems with that i pick up at a junkyard. Most of the time i will need to spray starter fluid in the carb to turn on my car. But after that it runs fine, has anyone this problem or know whats wrong.

Dude that might not even be your problem. How do you know it's because of the carb that you're having hard starts? Go through the process of elimination first, it could be something with your ignition, and by that i mean distributor, plugs or wires. Check all your vacuum lines, and make sure the gasket between the intake and carb is sealing right.

Second, if its a junkyard find, it could just need rebuilt?? what size and model Edelbrock, and what motor are you putting it on??

first thing is to check for fuel squirting when you move the throttle, if fuel is squirting normally, then check for vaccuum leaks, make sure all of your unused ports are cover, if that checks out the purchase a rebuild kit and a book and rebuild your carb the right way.once thats all good to go, if you still need spray to start then check your timing

I know its the carb giveing me problems because with the one i had on before i had no problems like this. I was going to check if fuel was squirting in the the carb but i forgot ill be doing that today. If it isnt would a rebuild fix this? And the timing should be good i changed out the timing chain not that long ago also i adjusted the distributor so it idels great now.

if the carb is bad yes a rebuild could help, but then you still have to tune it for your aplication, but atleast you know that the carb is good to go.

Got the car turning on with out haveing to squrit starting fluid in the carb. Just from turning it on a couple of times cleared it up. But still adjusting carb runing rich.
