ok my car's not consistent, but i've heard that's had carbuerated cars are. my car can be running one night real hard and strong, but the next not so...during the heat of the day, the car runs sloppy most of the time. the prob i'm having i'm guessing is with the carb, the secondaries aren't opening up when i dump the pedal. it's kinda like ESP if you know your car, you can just feel with the pedal when the cars ready to run or not, well with my car that how it is....it's kinda a drag cuz i want the power to be there when i want it, not whenever it feels like it.... 😢 can anyone shine some light on this issue?

Which model Holley?

Holley's are kinda finicky carbs, and most people dismiss them as junk, simply because they won't/don't take the time to learn how they work.

The best piece of advice I can give you from here is to go pick up this book...

I just roll my eyes everytime I hear people bash on Holleys...
Bottom line, it takes a little patience and some know how, but they're a very easy carb to work with.

I have never tried a holley myself. Just always heard how they require constant adjustment and tuning, but IMO that's with any carb really. I had to adjust my edelbrock 600 because the temps down here in texas are 105+ degrees. It really depends on what altitude, temp., etc. of where your living which will determine the performance of your carb and how you need to set it. I have had good luck with my edelbrock for the past 5 years and had to hardly touch the thing since I built the motor roughly 30-40k miles ago.
