cargo spring install??

Tell me please which way is the proper way to install cargo springs. With the tight coils up, or the tight coils down? forgive my ignorance. and thanks for your help.
 
According to the manual it is more important that they be orientated correctly. I can't find the picture, but the top coil ends should be on the forward facing side of the axle, with the end of the coil parallel with the axle line. That means the top end of the coil would point at the driver's side frame rail. Anyone with that pic please post, it says it all.
 
Mark, you're right, I have it in Chiltons book and the top coil is pointing towards the left frame rail. The tolerance is 15* max rearward and 5* max foward
