Mich,
I'm sorry things have come to this. After all the work done on these cars and you're unable to enjoy them yet.
I wish you well and all the best for a speedy recovery. I apologize that I haven't gotten back to you.
We'll talk more soon. Hope the surgery procedure goes well.

Damn, I wish today went better than it did.
I went to the orthopedic surgeon this morning. Had all the MRI stuff. He had a tech take a few x rays of both my knees. Gets me on the exam table. Moves my leg around while hes asking me exactly where the pain is. In the end he tells me its probably not my knee. FML
The surgeon tells me a torn meniscus would only cause localized pain in the side of my knee and not the back. I really find that hard to believe. He goes on to tell me the MRI shows a slight tear, not one long enough to cause any substantial amount of pain. He tells me it "might" be a blood clot so he sent me to the local hospital for a stat ultrasound of the femoral artery and veins in my legs. That was all negative. He also mentioned it could be a nerve impingement from my lower back. Another thing I find strange since theres no other symptom besides the pain in the knee area.
So at almost 3PM Im still where I was this morning. No answers. Leg still hurts. I cant walk without crutches. Again. FML

Ask about "avascular necrosis". That's what happened to me and the orthopedic surgeon took a couple of tries to find it. He ruled out all the tendons almost immediately with the tests he did. But he couldn't tell me why my knee hurt. Essentially, the end of my femur was dying and getting reabsorbed due to lack of blood flow to the end of the bone. One day I stood up and "pop" the pain sucked and I immediately had to sit down and it hurt like hell. A few months and a buttload of extra strength aleve later I was still hurting and limping. He didn't find it until I kept whining like a beeyotch and he finally did an MRI. Xray don't show you anything if it's that. MRI showed it and it wasn't cool. Also have a little arthritis in my knee joint too, but it was very mild.

Not saying it is that, but my surgeon has 20+ years doing this and is considered one of the best in the area and it took him a minute to find it. He said that is usually found in the hips, not the knees or elbows very often, although it can happen about anywhere. After he did the backfill with the "cement" process he injected into the end of the bone using arthroscopic surgery (BONDO), and a couple months of PT, I'm almost 100% again. At least it doesn't hurt. He said that should buy me about 5-8 years and it probably won't get better, but it won't get any worse as far as reabsorbtion. Eventually I'll probably have to get a new knee. Not looking forward to that.

Anyway, here's a couple of nurses from the Heart Attack Grill to help take your mind off your pain for about 20 seconds anyway. Feed the knee!!!! :) Good luck. I know what it's like to keep mucking around.

I dont know what looks more appetizing, the burgers or the girls ! LOL
I already had the MRIs done last Friday and the doc had x rays done this AM. Just got back from my primary. He gave me another script for an MRI of my lumbar spine. This is really starting to suck.

Well guys, its been a hell of a month. I wish I could say Im healed up and doing great but nope. Not yet.
I went to another orthopedic surgeon on 5/28. This guy doesnt do repairs, just replacements. He did both of my wifes knees in 2016 and she thinks the guys great. Since she was an ER RN for over 30 years I usually take her advice about local docs. He basically gave me an appointment to give me his opinion on whats going on with both of my knees.
My right knee that was fixed back in 2015 is now bone on bone. Thats why it started bothering me last Fall. Not something Im going to deal with at the moment. My wife went through every possible option before she had her knees replaced and it gave her a few years before she needed the surgery. I'll try the gel shots later on after the left knee issue is resolved.
Now the left one. The knee itself is in really good shape even with the meniscus tear. He looked at the MRI discs and also had his partner who does the repair surgeries check them out. The meniscus tear is small. He gave me a cortisone shot and told me to call in a few days to let him know how it worked. It felt better for a day. That was it. As soon as I started walking around it started up again.
I called his office his past Monday. I got in to see his partner on Friday morning. He examined both legs. He now thinks its the hamstring in the left leg thats causing all the pain. Good news ? I guess. No surgery. I have to have PT to see if that makes a difference. He said it might take 6 or 7 weeks to get back to normal if the PT works. Its going to be a crappy Summer ! LOL

Just put a toilet seat for your drivers seat and move to jersey so they can pump your gas.

Never have to stand again and life will be good cruising in the Malibu.

Problem solved!!!

Feel better man!!!!!!!!!!!!!
