My car had a 63 amp alternator on it at first which was not keeping my battery charged no longer than 4-5 days. So I went and got a cs-130 105 amp alternator purchased the correct jack with the resistors for my car and install the alternator tensioned the belts as needed. I had my charging system tested before the alternator swap and its at the same #'s around 12.XX volts. Both alternators were benched tested showing good and the battery is new, which was also tested before the charging system test. Any of the Gbodyforum family able to help me with this?

Specs on my car

Olds 350
true duals
mechanical clutch fan
...no radio or electronics

the harness i purchased from napa was part Ec82 https://www.napaautoparts.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=ECHEC82_0215724431

new batterys are sometimes bad also my brother has a 99 grand am and we checked it for days to see what was draining his battery and that was after he had it tested at auto zone then after we looked at it for days we had it tested at a auto electric shop it tested bad so he returned the battery and got a new 1 now he isnt having any troubles

Check and make sure your getting voltage on the sensor wire going to the alternator(key on, engine off). I believe its the brown wire. Looks like the alternator charging fields aren't being turned on. Could be a bad fuse.

I got the problem fixed, the issue was that I had my a/c plug in the alternator. I know gbf is like wtf how did you do that. I did it due to past owner cut the actual plug and put it back into the wiring. Took my car to a old Chevy mechanic knew issue as soon as he looked at the alternator. He gave me a connector off a 350 he at on the ground and found the rest of the wire in my harnessed.
