I have a a super clean 4DR cutlass frame, it still has some of the factory paint in spots...but the body is beat to hell and is ugly. Will a 2 door fit on the the frame? I know that the sedans frames were considered Gbodys and the coupes were GBody Specials?? Some have told me that it will work while some have also told me that there are some variations. I am going to a GBody junk yard near my house before I return down south to finish the cutlass to get it drive-able to get it home. The guy that has all of these cars is in the middle of nowhere western PA... I think I will be looking for a good shell with a bad frame or piece a body together prefer Malibu or Regal...I will post pics when I go. The guys owes our shop some money so... we shall see what he's got.

I thought so I just wanted to make sure before I did any wheeling or dealing. Thanks.

4 door and 2 door use the same frame...

Aside from some different length front frame horns.

I wasn't aware any G body's have different length front frame horns, I know the back rails are different lengths for the stationwagon and elco.

Close but not quite right, all 78-81 were A body specials, 82-88 are G bodys. Both coupes and sedans. Not really a big difference, just GM designation, it's easier for most people to call them all G bodys.
The front frame horns are around 1-2" in difference, You can collapse the bumper shocks and weld them in place to make up the difference, or use some extra bumper shims depending on what you want to do.

I have a 1980 regal frame under my 86 GP and it was identical except for the transmission support extension.
