Here's what I did:

There is a bunch more in both the wagon and Monte builds.

GNS Performance rear frame rail brace & UMI upper shock mount brace

Even though I don't have the GNS brace (I made my own) -- that and the UMI brace do wonders. The front Pontiac brace is also a must.

That summit body mount kit is polyurethane. Not sure if it's true but supposedly some of the black polyurethane bushings contain graphite to help prevent squeaks.

So general opinion is the umi brace is worth it?

Pretty close to what I did! Bought some steel stock; drilled the holes; primed and painted -- voila! Nothing complicated about that brace -- it's just there to tie the rear forks together, nothing more. Just makes the rear frame stiffer.

1978-1988 GM G-Body Control Arm Reinforcements/Frame Braces

This and control arm work will stop wheel hop.

1978-1988 GM G-body Front Reinforcement Brace, Bolt-In

1978-1988 GM G-Body Rear Shock Tower Brace, Bolt-In

These will help the frame from twisting.

If you weld there are many options. I started with boxing the rear lower control arm mount and completing the welds on the frame. Its amazing that the welds are not equal from side to side or car to car.

When I was jacking up the front of the Monte yesterday the rear tire lifted too. Pretty cool to see considering I haven't even made the SFCs yet.
