Chime wont shut off! FML!

When the ignition is on and the headlights are turned on the chime goes off non-stop as if a door is open.

Just started today. I had installed a new radio today and then took it out. I currently have no radio installed and just the harness still wired in. I was running wires toward the trunk for a sub but I scrapped that idea. I also put new door sills in but that shouldn't have anything to do with it. I checked both the switches in the door jambs and they seem to move fine. I really don't want to disconnect the chime because my dumb *ss will leave the lights on or something. Please help!!!

You mean the black switch in the door jamb? Nothing.

Basically if the lights are on in any situation, the chime is going off.

I had both kick panels off today. I may have disturbed the chime box. Going to check now.

update: I wasn't even near the chime box. Tried checking for loose connections, jiggling the key while in the ignition. Nothing is helping. Hate my life. :x

check your fuses if the chime mod dosent have power it thinks the lights are on with the ignition off so it chimes dave

Thanks will do! all the messing around today I could have blown something. I know the chime is connected to the cigarette lighter and that got pushed around a whole bunch today.

Plug your radio harness in or if you have an aftermarket wiring deal, try connecting the ground to good metal.

You're thinking it could be a result of have no radio hooked up? I was thinking that was a possibility. I'll try it when I get home from work.

Sounds like you got a floating ground looking for a place to go.

Found out the Center Gauge fuse had blown(I wouldn't know my center gauges don't work, printed board is shot, haven't installed new one yet.) I replaced it and it stopped the chime but then popped again after like 2 minutes of driving.
