There's only 1.5inches above my carb horns to the hood. Used a 1.5 inch drop base (unlike normal 1.25 inch bases), with a 3" filter.

Looking good, man. Looking good!

Nice torque strap. Do you get asked "are you afraid someone will steal the motor?" all the time by morons?

ha ha ha,
actually, you're the first to bring that up...

most people who notice are left completely baffled.

Nice! did your car originally come come equipped with a non a/c setup? I am wondering what the under dash vent controls and the vent trim looks like. Can you provide pics? Otherwise your engine bay looks clean and well maintained 😀 .

... from what I know, it was a base model GP, 305 car. I can take a picture if you'd like... what exactly do you need to see?

The left and right vent controls underneath the steering column and the dummy vents on the dashboard if any..I have yet to see a non a/c Pontiac system. I am assuming everything else is the same except those parts.

now you've got me thinking...

the reason I think it did not have an a/c is because it's a base model GP. The airbox is smaller (wasn't the a/c box much bigger? and had brackets for the condensor?). But on the other hand, there are extra monting points on the inner fender (wonder if they're for the a/c, or something else?).

I do have vent controls under the steering, but they just blow air in from outside. Same with the passenger side vents on the dash.

I'll take some pics and post em here.

Love the look of that GP

Nice nerf bar, too. You must deal with some insane traffic, eh?
