Trying to clean up some of the old mess from the factory. I believe these wires were for the cruise control which I no longer use. There is a harness, single ground wire and a vacuum line that all pass through the firewall. Would removing this cause any problems? What is the vacuum line for and where does it go inside the car?

If I'm not mistaken the vacuum line would run to a switch at the brake pedal arm and would disengage the cruise when the brakes are applied. I would think that you could delete it if you wanted to...can't recall where the electrics run to.

The vacuum line is not connected to anything under the dash. The harness has more wires in the cabin then engine bay.

The wiring connector is for the cruise so cut if you want, disconnect battery first, there may be constant power on one or more of them. Sounds like you have one heck of a nice engine in there.

Thanks. It's been a work in progress. Last year I couldn't get it to run right as the headers kept burning plug wires even with ceramic sleeves. I have since wrapped the headers. This year I hope to get it tuned better. Right now I am tying to get the under-hood wiring and vacuum lines cleaned up for an appraisal.
