i got an 86 cutlass salon and i want to put flowtech headers on it and i need to know if there will be clearance issues with the headers, there going on a 307 btw.I also need to know if the headers will fit on an olds 350 that will be put in the cutlass salon later.I've heard that dynomax and expensive hooker headers will fit but will flowtechs fit ???

I can't tell you how the Flowtechs fit, but I do know my Hedmans fit pretty good. If it fits on the 307 it will fit on a 350 since they are identical on the outside.

For cheap headers, Headmans in a Cutlass with a small block olds are the only ones I will use. Perfect fit, even with the stock starter. No using a BFH to "massage" the tubes needed.

Trust me on this. Get the Headmans.

Now if you want to go expensive, American Racing stainless headers for gbody SBO are the cats *ss. But at 900.00 for a set they aint cheap. lol

I put the Sanderson shorty rear dump headers, super easy fit. I have not tried the Hedmans, but you can get them in the thicker 3/8" flange, 14 gauge tubing ceramic coated version for less than $500 dollars. That is a good price for a heavy duty good fitting header. I went shorty so I could fab my own 2.5" dual exhaust under a single hump cross member.

flo tec headers will fit fine.put set in my 84 H/O W/ olds 350(same as 307)
just need shorter oil filter.and drop starter put headers in lose then reinstall
starter

Im doing the same thing, and still unsure to go with flowtech or
headmans.. anyone prefer one to another? and how do they sound

already got a pypes xpipe and looking into flowmaster super 40's
or borla xr1s..still unsure about that also

I had a cheap set from Dynomax on my 307 for a while. Until I blew it up, that is...
I think they were only $104 (7 years ago), and they fit great, even though I didn't replace my motor mounts.
I will say though, that after that set, I'll never run painted headers again... it smelled like burning paint for months.

Are you talking about the "Blackjack" ones? Did you have to use the short oil filter?

Back then, they didn't have the 'blackjack' name... All I know is they were cheap enough on my non-existant budget at the time, since I was only 18 when I got them, and then I blew the motor up like 3 months later.

I did have to change to a shorter filter, but the instructions that came with them said which one to use.
