Code read help

Need some help please....I have a check engine light on and trying to figure out as to why now I tried with a paper clip to read codes now when I did that nothing happened so need to know how to fix so am able to read the codes so I can smog my car and any suggestions as to why maybe it's on...someone had mentioned a fuse or something.....in dire need of help..thank you.

Start simple, check the fuses for the ecm to see if they are any good.

Where all the other fuses are correct...and I think if memory serves me correct thought I may have.

Thanks feel so airheaded there was no fuse....now can see what is going in now...I appreciate the help .

Would not believe this but there was no fuse there
