ok this is gunna sound crazy but if someone can relate to this and give me some insight or info in this wierd situation, id greatly appreciate it. Right now its -3 degrees here in Northeastern Iowa. My mother has a 06 Kia Spectra thats been given her some wierd problems. the most recent was tonight when i was goin to bed. I looked outside and noticed the running lights were on. the car was run earlier in the day but i was in and out and never had the lights on. I go out and check it out and theres nothing thats been done to it. so i open it up and notice the light switch in the OFF position but the lights are on. I flip the switch on and off, they go off but came right back on. I started the car and let it run for about 15 to 20 minutes and that solved it i thought. well after about a half hour, they're on again but the switch is off :wtf:  could the relay be getting so cold that its causing it to make connection? Is there a warming deal programmed in the computer to turn the lights on to keep things from freezing up? I dont get it and have never seen this done. Any Ideas???? :blam: :blam:

It can happen. Not supposed to. Usually means the relay is getting weak and should be replaced.

It's probably a bad relay, I overloaded a fan relay once and it melted inside and was making a sparatic connection even with it off, from the outside it looked perfectly fine.
After that I decided to upgrade all my high output items(fans, fuel pumps, etc.) to higher amperage relays. That was probably 7+ years ago and never a problem since.

ill give the relay a shot and see what happens. wierd that its goin on but ill change it out and go from there. thanks for the quick response's 😀
