Anyone ever come across a 5sp from a colorado. Would it bolt to an ls? Are they ok or junk. Ill assume I shouldnt be wasting my time but I guess it doesnt hurt to ask,

II assume you are not talking about the Holden Colorado. I found this on another forum.....if it can only handle 225 lbs of torque I wouldn't bother with it

"After a little home work and a LOT of searching i finally found specs on our transmissions. So heres the info i found. BTW AISIN-AI is the main supplier for toyota motor corporation.

The AR-5 is a 5-speed manual transmission manufactured by Aisin. It is designed for longitudinal engine applications and can handle up to 225 ft·lbf (305 N·m) of torque.

General Motors used the AR-5 as RPO MA5.

Gear ratios:

1st 3.75 / 2nd 2.26 / 3rd 1.37 / 4th 1.00 / 5th 0.73 / Reverse 3.67

Applications:

2004–present Chevrolet Colorado
2004–present GMC Canyon"

I figured as much, This one is a US Chevy Colorado but ill bet its safe to assume there the same.

They only came behind inline 4 and 5's, not sure what the bellhousing pattern on this is like but suffice it to say not worth the effort with the gearing and torque rating.
