Colour quandary

It wasn’t as nice as pics show ,topside was very faded the pigment would come off on your hand if you rubbed it
Yes I too agree that the original paint is classy , and as I’ve said I’d probably be happy with it .
it has been my choice for last few months to just repaint it the stock colours .
Just afraid of making a mistake , just second guessing maybe ?
Your car, your choice. I will say that most Cutlasses I see are the usual colors. Blues, black, some white now and then. Your car is a unique color combo. Just like my Dark Jadestone Malibu. Ive owned the car for over 20 years and Ive only seen 3 online that color in all those years. You might think its strange but I kinda like that. LOL

You want it to pop?? Go with 1970 Chevelle Citrus Green. My car was this color from the factory, rare as it is, I cannot make myself paint it that color. I'm boring so it will be Fathom Blue instead.

Nothing better than a well executed car in factory colors. Most are willing to do a color change but to do it right will require more money and most details die in the door/trunk/hood jambs. Lots of money to get those done right.
Having the door and trunk jams repainted anyway , I think the seat belts used to hit the jams at one point and chipped them up pretty bad and there was some rust found in trunk jam
I appreciate the observation , my painter also pointed out the hood jamb area where the fender colour “folds” over the top into engine bay
Yes it will be more money to change colour but I’m into this pretty deep already, and although I’m not a rich man , I feel like this is no time to start counting Pennies

What about a greystone metallic factory GM color on the earlier 2000 vehicles. Here’s my old truck in that color. Always looked great clean or dirty 5525BCF2-A19A-4DE4-9B05-DB6DF9E26220.jpeg

That was one of the colours the painter showed me and a favourite of his female office girl as well
It was a candy “ house of colour” product
$$$ high dollar but high quality
It definitely had “pop”

If I were dropping that kind of coin on a paint job, 1. I would DEFINITELY want to pick the correct colors 2. In order to pick the right colors you really need to see it on the car. Do you know of someone or perhaps a business that tinkers in graphic arts? You could give them a picture of your car with some color choices you have selected, and for a few bucks, actually SEE what you're beautiful car will look like finished. It'll be cheap insurance to make sure you don't second guess you're final color scheme AND it'll avoid disappointment when you pick your Olds up at the body shop! For the few bucks it may set you back, its nothing compared to the peace of mind, and remember, you have to look at the color you choose for a long time, rather see you smile than cringe!! Good luck!! Can't wait to see the finished product!! ----Will
