so i started my car the other day
then i went to shut it off and i couldnt get the column to lock
i had to rotate the column (the piece that turns as you put it into gear, i have a floor shifter)
how do i adjust this? thanks

It's simple. You follow the rod that comes off of the column shift lever in the engine compartment...you'll find an adjustment clamp with a bolt in it. Loosen that and slide the rod until you get your optimum adjustment. Place your shifter in the park position, and same with the column.
also check your shift cable adjustment to make sure it goes into all gears properly.
