Congrats to Mike for winning G-body of the Month for El Caminos and Caballeros only!

I thank all who voted and entered in GBOTM!

Check out the winning ride!

His '83 El Camino started out as a parts car for the El Camino he built his wife.

I decided to it would make a good home for the 500 CI Cadillac engine I’d been saving for a project. The project kind of ballooned, when I decided to change the front end and doors for a set from a 78 Monte Carlo.

In the process I built a 9” rear end for it, installed a TH400 and added a Monte Carlo SS interior and gauges. The majority of work was done in my garage. I pretty much documented the build in these threads.

It’s been my daily driver since I finished in January, I use it to pick up parts, haul things and generally use it like a truck when I need one. I even drove it from AZ to IL and back a few months ago. The 507 Cadillac makes it a ball to drive (this thing would easily outrun the 68 BB 4 spd El Camino I just sold).

Thanks.

Congrats Mike that car came out nice and looks like a factory built car. Definitely one of a kind.

X2....Id love to hear that engine running....congrats!

Thanks guys, especially considering the other outstanding trucks that were put up this month. It really is icing on the cake for this build.

Good choice! I'm dying to see a video of it running. I've always wanted to shoehorn a big cad engine into a g-body. I'll be referring to your links if I ever get around to doing one.
