There is lots of information on the web bout this conversion. I don't need anyone asking me why go back to the stone age. It's what I wanna do. Anyhow, I have one simple question that doesn't seem to be clear. I know an electric fuel pump is required. I've read some people say a regulator is needed, a return line is needed, and some say that you just mount the fuel pump inline with the carb feed line. So which is it??? I thought a simple fuel pump spliced into the carb feed line is all you need? Does it need to be back by the tank or can it be mounted close to the carb? Thanks guys for any insight.

With a carb you don't want more than 7 PSI max, whatever pump you end up using check the pressure, more than 7 you will need a regulator.

If you're using an edelbrock you'll probably be fine with a Holley red as long as you're not sitting at traffic lights for extended periods. I used a Holley blue and a regulator and if I sat and idled for a few minutes my car started pissing gas from every possible place that had a connection on the feed line. Quadrajets only need around 5 psi so if you have one of those like me you'll probably want a regulator.

i would get the Carter street pump crt-p4594 ant summitracing. ive used one before on modified sbc 355 in my 85 monte and they are very reliable pump it maximum psi is 8psi and say no regulator needed but i would use a regulator because most pumps will flow more the what there rated for plus at $81 its a good price for good performance.

Ive actually used a holley black with regulator and a buddy of mine had a holley blue on his camaro and the Carter pump is much more quieter then the holley pumps to me.
